Privacy Notice
Project Atom is a static educational game. This build does not create accounts, ask for names or email addresses, collect form submissions, use analytics, or send gameplay progress to a server.
The game saves progress on this device using browser storage. Saved items include completed levels, best scores, answered question IDs, the saved order of unanswered questions, and the selected colour palette.
This local memory exists so the game can resume where you left off and avoid repeating questions you have already answered. It stays in this browser unless you clear site data or use the Clear saved progress control in Options.
Project Atom loads its element data from the local site files. If the site is hosted by a web host, that host may process standard technical request information such as IP address, browser type, requested files, and timestamps to deliver the page and protect the service.
Project Atom does not knowingly ask children for personal information. The content is intended for general educational use and does not require personal details to play.
Terms of Use
Project Atom is provided as an educational periodic-table practice tool. You may use it for personal learning, classroom demonstration, revision, and general science-interest play.
The element facts are provided for learning and gameplay. They should not be treated as professional chemical, laboratory, health, safety, engineering, or regulatory advice.
Scores, progress, palettes, and randomized question order are stored locally in the browser and may be lost if browser data is cleared, if another device is used, or if private browsing storage is removed.
You agree not to use the site in a way that attempts to damage, overload, copy maliciously, or interfere with the page, its files, or the hosting service.
Project Atom may be updated over time to improve questions, layout, accessibility, data quality, and gameplay balance.
Accessibility Statement
Project Atom is designed to support keyboard, mouse, touch, and screen-reader use where practical for an interactive periodic table game.
The page includes semantic regions, a skip link to the periodic table, keyboard-focus styles, labelled category filters, status updates for level progress, and buttons for game actions rather than clickable non-controls.
The periodic table is intentionally wide. On smaller screens, the table scrolls horizontally so element tiles can keep readable proportions instead of collapsing into unusable shapes.
The Options menu includes alternate tile palettes. These palettes are visual preferences and do not change the element names, symbols, atomic numbers, prompts, or scoring.
This site aims to follow the spirit of WCAG guidance: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Some learning-game interactions may still benefit from real-user testing with assistive technology.
